Teardrop Relief was founded by a group of young Sri Lankans living in London to bring a little fun into the lives of the children of Sri Lanka in the wake of the Asian Tsunami.
After much thought, research and fundraising, Teardrop Relief purchased two beautiful old red London Routemaster Buses. One of the buses was converted into a double-decker mobile play center, which carries specialist play equipment, games and toys, and along with the teardrop team of children’s entertainers it travels the island visiting orphanages, schools and villages, providing underprivileged children with a very special day of fun. This unique vehicle is called the ‘Teardrop Fun Bus’.
This fun packed programme provides a delightful, exciting and stimulating day for the children and their guardians.
The project runs around 16 times a month and to date over 25,000 children have had the benefit of the fun bus experience.
We are honoured and delighted to have on board the Member of Parliament and former Sri Lankan Cricket Captain Ajuna Ranatunga as Patron of Teardrop Relief. With his help we have provided over 90 used computers to schools and orphanages, as well as providing cricket equipment for over 30 schools.
For us to continue to enrich the lives of the children of Sri Lanka, we regularly need to raise funds. Please give generously to Teardrop Relief; remember we have no administration charges, so 100% of your donation goes toward the wonderful work of Teardrop Relief.
Teardrop Relief …………..bringing back the Sri Lankan smile!
